Research at Applied Physics and Electronics

At the Department of Applied Physics and Electronics conducts research in two different subjects:

  • Electronics and System Engineering
    We work with signal processing with emphasis on human-machine interface, and the media where the issues about how the signals should be treated as they become robust, manageable and easy to transfer to different networks.
  • Energy Technology
    The challenges for research in energy technologies consist in particular the development of new knowledge about the supply, conversion, distribution and use of energy. In all these areas there are major opportunities to improve existing technologies and finding new solutions.

Centers

  • Centre for Biomedical Engineering and Physics (CMTF)
    CMTF is a network connecting research groups from several departments at Umeå University and Luleå University of Technology. The aim to coordinate and strengthen excellent research in northern Sweden for more efficient, better and safer healthcare.
